Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Description:

These mouth watering cookies will blow your mind. I guarantee this cookie recipe will be a staple in my home and hopefully yours too.

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon table salt

1 cup butter (2 sticks)

1 1/2 cup brown sugar (the darker the better)

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1 egg yolk

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon milk

chocolate chips or chunks

sea salt

Directions:

1.) In a medium sauce pan heat your butter at a medium-low heat. Once it is melted it will start to bubble. Stir continuously until the butter turns a nice golden color and has a slight nutty smell. This is how you make brown butter.

2.) In a stand mixer or mixing bowl combine the butter and sugars

3.) Next you will let the mixture come to a cooler temperature or until the the bottom of the bowl is warm to the touch (you do this so when you add the eggs they don't cook in the batter)

4.) Add the wet ingredients to the sugar and butter mixture. (egg, egg yolk, vanilla extract, milk)

5.) Next you will add your dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, table salt) do NOT add the sea salt yet.

6.) Mix until a dough is formed

7.) Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and make one inch balls of dough (about thirty) and place them on the sheet. Place the dough in your refrigerator for about 2 hours

8.) Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

9.) Bake cookies for 9-11 minutes or until the edges begin to turn golden brown

10.) Serve warm and enjoy!
